Leaves in a white gutter

Professional Gutter Cleaning You Can Count on in Oshkosh, WI

There are a plethora of different ways to clean gutters ranging from quick, cheap, and easy to more labor intensive methods. The way that they are cleaned is dependent on the current condition of the gutter system, as well as the customer's needs. The Property Groomers value getting the job done right, so here are a few methods that we use to guarantee clean and clear gutters.

Blowing Out Debris

If your gutters are full of dry leaves and debris, hand blowing is a quick and easy method of cleaning. This is a good option, as long as the customer does not mind the debris on the ground. We recommend doing this in fall before the yard is cleaned up.

Hand Pailing Out Debris

Hand scooping into a pail is generally necessary if the debris in your gutters is wet and mucky. This is a slower process, but it ensures that debris does not end up on the siding of your home or in the yard. If the eavestroughs are full of debris and water, the use of a sponge will help to coerce it down the downspout.

Water Hose

Running a ball valve on the end of a pressure washing hose creates a bit of a mess, but it is extremely thorough. If the circumstances are right, this process will get the job done.

Downspout Verification

We guarantee clear downspouts at the end of every job, as this is key to a properly functioning gutter system. Verification begins by dropping a wire nut into the top of the downspout.

Checking the Downspout

Using the hand blower, we will follow the wire nut with a burst of air and if it comes out of the other end, we can declare that particular downspout clear.

Sewer Rod

The use of a sewer rod may be necessary if downspout verification fails and a burst of air will not free the clog. In this process we will snake the downspout using a sewer rod, accompanied by forced air. If the clog persists, then a couple of last resort methods, such as disassembling or using the pressure washer, will do the trick.
